Etsy Shops part IV

How cool are these tights? even better if you colour co-ordinate your shoes with them! My first day this year tightless although I'm sure that wont last and I'll be back to the 40 denier in no time!
These are from BZR. Why is the shipping so expensive to the UK though? Perhaps this is DIYable.

A very long walk down a canal...

in London town.... and yes a sneaky little animated gif - almost worked.

Taking the piss out of the gifs

Love this site, having a laugh at fashions (and mine) latest obsession with animated gifs.

Mix Kraker 5 out of 10, good if you're trying to keep food down (Steve) particularly the fish shaped ones.

Milwaukee bus tickets

Just read about his in Creative Review. Kindra Murphy bought the lot from a flea market, they date from around 1930 - the 1980s. Read more in this months Creative Review. She has loads more on her flickr account.

They remind me a bit of the dog racing tickets you used to get from Walthamstow dogs...

Florals on black

Makes florals a little less girlie and looks very vintage.... me likey, I would wear dressed down with black nails and boots.

Nerd Boyfriend

I totally forgot this blog existed until a few days ago couldn't remember the name. There is now a Nerd Girlfriend as well. They take old, often cheesy pictures and find the equivalent available to buy online.

Got my eyes on you

The rugby's on, its pissing it down outside, therefore i'm making patterns. Steve says this one is very Gilbert and George. He keeps swearing, I'm guessing the rugby is not going well, I can't be bothered to turn round find out.

Grimes on the cover of this months Dazed and Confused....

Beautiful Princelet Street

I came across these beautiful images online of a house on Princelet Street, off Brick Lane. Number 4 to be precise. I used to walk down this road everyday on my way to work and try and stare in the windows with not much luck. So it's nice to see these. You can see more on their site.

There is not enough wood in modern homes is there?! I did some more research and discovered that you could buy another house on the street for £2,250,000 (ouch!) Number 19 Princelet Street also looks pretty incredible, built in 1719. The first occupants were Huguenot weavers, much later in 1869 Jewish settlers errected a synagogue in the garden which I think is what is pictured below.

You can read more about this place on this site. The place requires much needed funding apparently to save it, check out their site and donate. Finally, I discovered that 24 has been almost completely rebuilt, see below, an interesting article about it on Spitalfields Life.

Band of Skulls - Paintings

I actually discovered this band through their artwork. It's possibly not true of music 'never judge it by it's cover' as the band are pretty cool too.

Bassist and vocalist in the band Emma Richardson has her first solo exhibition on at the moment in Shoreditch at the Londonewcastle project place. The album Baby Darling Doll Face Honey has her artwork on it. She collaborated with a creative team to produce the others. See bands website to listen to tracks.

Do you Pinterest?

It took me a little while to get into, it's a bit like twitter, you need to follow the right people, otherwise it's a lot of sickly sweet images and pictures of hedgehogs. Could do with some more cool people to follow... I recommend AmySia for print and fashion. Follow me here.
