Before and after Chrismas day pictures, the tree was a little on the wonk but didn't fall over... in case you were worried!

Eerie Embroidery
I realised as soon as I saw this that it must have inspired this fashion feature for Dazed and Confused magazine. Although reading on it seems that the artist, Maurizio Anzeri often works with the magazine on different collaborations and this is one of them. You can read more about him here.

Our flat is freezing, wooden floorboards look nice, but in the winter it sucks. I picked out some nice winter warmers from Farfetch that I wont be buying... its nice to dream though when you're tres bored and cold.

Bit too early for camping?
Yes! but these are fun.... Wouldn't spend that much for it to get trashed or worse nicked at a Festival. Available at Field Candy.
This is England '88
Very enjoyable so far, brilliant acting, bleak, up north skies, council estates and some incredible outfits make for some fab TV. The guy on the left with the bleached blonde hair would fit right in on Kingsland Road.

I want to try the eye shadow, not sure I could pull it off though...

going on about galaxy stuff again....
I absolutely love the idea of combining the galaxy with jewellery and would love to do this somehow with other textures. This is back from 2010 and is or was available from Australian (again!) site Drown.

Galaxy Print Madness
Ok for the New Years Party, with the theme of Space, I plan to perhaps rather unoriginally wear some galaxy print amongst other stuff. Galaxy print has properly taken off the last few years with the likes of Christopher Kane producing collections full of it. Plus digital printing technologies have meant some amazing print quality being seen on the high street. See below a small collection some better than others.
Calvin Klein galaxy pants anyone? or the kinda ugly print/ dress from Forever Unique I think it was. Galaxy print nails, galaxy print Lita shoes (why are these so popular and can anyone walk in them?)
A Peter Pilotto collaboration with Kipling, comes with an ugly monkey keyring thingy. Plus the all in one body suit thing from Black Milk who seem to have the best quality for price stuff that I have seen around.
This dress would be v fun to wear.... its by Setareh Mohtarez.
Check out Black Milk for mad prints: galaxy, bee print, blood splatters and much more!

Etsy Shops Part I
I do have a bit of an obsession with Etsy, and I tell other people to check it out but they don't get it. Probably because there is an awful lot of shite on there. However if you have the patience you can find some amazing things and they often come beautifully packaged with a handwritten note or arty postcard or something. There is a sort of English version 'Folksy' but its a long way off its rival.
Anyway I have decided to regularly post about shops I have come across and here is the first.
It fits in nicely with this strange obsession I am having with diamante stuff strewn together from old bits of jewellery to create wonderfully garish, eye catching pieces.
These bits are from a shop called Dolores Petunia and is based in LA.

Rainbow Stairs and String Art
Seems to be a trend of this sort of thing around, which is nice. This is a stairwell in the Courtauld Institute of Art which has been
transformed into a rainbow of colour by Texas based artist Gabriel Dawe. Some more stringy art stuff here which I love. Nothing will beat the sort of thing my Nan had on her wall in the 80's though. A sort of oil lamp type thing it was similar to the below.

One thing leads to another
I went to see Summer Camp play at Efes Snooker club last week, they were really good and the atmosphere was lovely considering the location. All the way through they had film clips projected behind them from old musicals and american high school films mainly featuring dancing from the 80's.
The last one was a clip from the film Million Dollar Mermaid which bought back memories of watching this film as a child and thinking it was one of the most magical things I had ever seen!
I went on to discover this video of some sorta Echo and the Bunnymen remix type of thing featuring Esther Williams swimming around and looking beautiful...

Would like to be in New York this winter to amongst other things, experience hanging out in here for a bit.... (see more pics about it here...)
Space Age New Year
My friends are organising a huge new years party this year, which makes a change from the usual not sure what to do, where to go etc. After the last letter party thingy that I didn't get round to posting pictures for, we know its gonna be good. The theme is Space, with a rather nice invite designed by Mike. Here is a mood board I put together to help plan my outfit....

Fred Butler
I wasn't sure of what to make of Fred Butler until I saw this video. She seems like a very inspiring person. I like the way she seems shy of the camera at first and then relaxes towards the end slowly revealing a personality that matches her clothes and accessories.
