One tune and video to get you pumping and make you feel slightly neurotic and then another to chill you right back down to normality!

John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts
John Grants new album is something I have been listening to recently. The video for this song features my local neighbourhood, Dalston, including local 'hair' shop PAKS, amongst other things! If there is one thing Dalston doesn't lack it's shops selling hair, which is often seen blowing around the streets like tumbleweed. Plus another of my favourite London places, the Barbican conservatory which I only realised existed last year.

Psychedelic Purson
Bit gutted about missing out on seeing the band Purson on Tuesday at Madame JoJo's.
Loving the 70's vibe, prog rock style, psychedelic video, hair, outfit, eye rings etc. I heard a quote the other day that people are obsessed with the decade before them. Sometimes I feel like that about the 70's!

Alice Makes Music
My little sister has been featured in an online magazine, World of Wishful Thinkers. Go read it here. Alice has her own unique style and has never been afraid to express herself through her clothes and hair, the Japanese tourists used to love her on our trips to Camden years ago! She also makes beautiful music. Keep updated on Alice via her blog here.

Driving Soundtrack
Have you seen Drive yet? I'm not one for watching films with violent bits (I'm a wimp) but this one I loved. Proper 80s styling with a brilliant soundtrack that I cannot stop playing. The fact that Ryan Gosling is in it, kinda helps as well.

Animated gif style video
Looks like the video director was perhaps influenced by all the animated gifs doing the rounds.... the song is not bad too! On Hold by Factory Floor - directed by AB/CD/CD

Lucy McRae - Art Director
The boyfriend pointed me in the direction of this website. Lucy McRae is an art director who mixes fashion with technology and the human body to create extraordinary videos and images. Below is a video she directed for Australian Synth Pop band 'Rat vs Possum'
I love the all in one suited dancers, perhaps Kigu should start making them. There are other great short films on the site, I particularly like the Chlorophyll Skin video made for Amsterdam Fashion Week. It has what looks like giant cotton buds stuck onto a human body and then brightly coloured paint poured over.

One thing leads to another
I went to see Summer Camp play at Efes Snooker club last week, they were really good and the atmosphere was lovely considering the location. All the way through they had film clips projected behind them from old musicals and american high school films mainly featuring dancing from the 80's.
The last one was a clip from the film Million Dollar Mermaid which bought back memories of watching this film as a child and thinking it was one of the most magical things I had ever seen!
I went on to discover this video of some sorta Echo and the Bunnymen remix type of thing featuring Esther Williams swimming around and looking beautiful...

Fred Butler
I wasn't sure of what to make of Fred Butler until I saw this video. She seems like a very inspiring person. I like the way she seems shy of the camera at first and then relaxes towards the end slowly revealing a personality that matches her clothes and accessories.

Roisin Murphy - a new fave
I have never really paid much attention to Roisin Murphy as a person, but my boyfriend suggested I watch this video of her, and now I realise she is brilliant!

Gabriel by Joe Goddard
It would be nice if I could get this projected on all my walls at home whilst spinning around to the track with friends.
