Didn't bother dressing up this year for Halloween. Was looking through some old pictures though from previous years though and particularly liked the tube ones. Often the getting ready part and getting there is the best bit!

Finally its Friday evening
Time to get me a bottle of this stuff. No not really, I'm more of a Cab Sav kinda girl. Whiskey is a lovely colour though isnt it.
Daniel Silver / Acne Collaboration
Daniel Silver a London based artist has collaborated with the Swedish brand Acne to produce these prints. He layered african prints over tweed fabrics to create the patterns (aparently some were purchased from Ridley Road market) as well as tea towels which he uses in his sculptural work.

Another lovely new fashion site
This time by Paper, a company specialising in beautiful luxury
womenswear, not in my price range unfortunately as I'm always skint, but I can appreciate the clothes and
website and the AW11 film is lovely and well worth a watch.

Book recommendation, Everything is Illuminated
...by Jonathan Safran Foer. This book is hilarious, but in parts also painfully sad. Well worth a read. Although the main reason I am posting about this is because I love the artwork. (never judge a book by its cover, in this case not true) People look at you funny on the tube as well if they see it from a certain direction. It looks like you have the book upside down.

The Kills = HOT
I love this video, I know its a bit old now but still, plus they both look HOT. I really love Alisons look in this, sort of Wendesday from the Addams family. I need a collar like that and her hair (wig or her real hair I wonder?)

Escape to the country
Happy cows enjoying freaky October weather, my folks 'summer house' with non edible grapes, followed by a lovely dinner on interesting plates and a pomegranate cocktail of some sort. Perfect pre-party weekend.
Holly Fulton Prints
As a wannabe textile print designer (even though I have a degree in Textiles!) I absolutely love Holly Fulton. Partly because of the big references to art deco and all the lips. (lips keep coming back into my posts!)
I particularly like the smoking ones and the images of hands. Her accessories match them beautifully.
Here are a selection of her collections, concentrating on the print aspect of her work.

Monki, now available online!
Did I mention I work in fashion retail as a digital designer? Therefore I always keep my eye on the competition and this site is one of my favourites. Monki has all the collections beautifully laid out, alongside brilliant illustrations and animations. The clothes are cheap with lots of interesting on trend basics to chose from.
They also sent me inpisiring magazines in the post, but still you couldn't buy... until now!
The site doesn't seem as interactive as it was - but it still looks great, definitely worth a shop.

Still beautiful
a flash sort of video I re-found whilst looking for flash design inspiration. Not that I will be doing anything this clever!

Roisin Murphy - a new fave
I have never really paid much attention to Roisin Murphy as a person, but my boyfriend suggested I watch this video of her, and now I realise she is brilliant!
