Check out this dress in relation to the Alan Aldridge post below. I was searching on Etsy for something completely different and this crazy dress popped up. It is the creation of Striptych Leather who are based in Southsea, England. Each piece is handmade and therefore totally unique. There are other items in the shop but they don't compare. I would love to see pictures of the people that buy them!

Hippy trippy graphic styles
Alan Aldridge is an illustrator/ painter/ graphic designer born in London's East End.
His son is the fashion photographer Miles Aldridge - who I featured here, he also has 3 model daughters as well, one is Lily - who married Caleb from The Kings of Leon.
He is famous for his psychedelic, trippy, collage style images of the Beatles, and created album covers from the 60's and 70's. He is apparently most famous for the picture book "The Butterfly Ball & the Grasshopper Feast" which is a series of illustrations featuring insects and other creatures.
His style is very reminiscent of the Beatles film Yellow Submarine - of which us O'Leary kids greatly enjoyed as on rainy days.
He has more recently collaborated with brands such as Paul Smith and Mac Cosmetics (see below)

This poster for Andy Warhol’s film “Chelsea Girls” was designed by Alan Aldridge in 1966 and features model Penelope Tree. The artist was arrested with the accusation of pornography. |

Plastic Fantastic
Perspex jewellery by two great, British brands: Jennifer Loiselle (on Etsy) and Wolf & Moon.
I'm still not bored of galaxy imagery and love the way Jennifer has created her product shots using the backgrounds.
Wolf & Moon have lots of great stuff on their site that appears to be sold out, hopefully they will creating more of those soon.
All this reminds me, I should wear my Nylon Sky necklace again soon that the lovely Alice bought me.

Praise for my Galaxy
I am completely happy with my Galaxy S2 Samsung phone, it does everything I need it to and costs much less a month than you know who, plus I have never seen anyone with a cracked screen, have you? Oh well maybe not completely happy. Often it takes a while for Apps to reach the android market such as Vine ( I think it's coming soon?) and the fact you cant buy fun phone covers for it.
Although I notice Society6 now do the Samsung S4 covers but that's not much use for me at the moment. Aaaanyway, I like this one, and I like the work of Sirin Thada. Society 6 is a great way of discovering artists and designers out there. I havent worked out if it's a good or bad way for artists to make money - but it's certainly a great way of getting noticed online. There are all sorts of sites like this popping up. You can get your artwork turned into fabric, cushions, shower curtains, mirrors, and more!
