House of Hackney shop opening

We went to the opening of House of Hackney's first 3 level store on Old Street. It looked stunning! This is a picture I took of the shop window featuring their Palmeral range, complete with a model in the matching dress. There is a great write up of the store on Susie Bubbles blog here.

John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts

John Grants new album is something I have been listening to recently. The video for this song features my local neighbourhood, Dalston, including local 'hair' shop PAKS, amongst other things! If there is one thing Dalston doesn't lack it's shops selling hair, which is often seen blowing around the streets like tumbleweed. Plus another of my favourite London places, the Barbican conservatory which I only realised existed last year.

Print Club Blisters The Directors Cut

Went to this last week at the Print Club in Dalston. I must go there soon and do a workshop, in fact I think they have some sort of deal at the moment with their workshops, so I have no excuse really.

Anyway, they had this really nice open night and exhibition which was on in the MC Motors building next door, also a prop hire place hence some of the cool bits of furniture and signs lying around. The posters were from local artists/illustrators/graphic designers who use the studios and the theme was film or movies or whatever you like to call them.

The posters were all available to buy, it was a difficult choice but we settled on this one by Laurie Hastings and the film was Virgin Suicides. It was a toss up between this one and the Princess Mononoke one by Joe Wilson.

Turkish Supermarket Snack No 2

Crappy picture, but I finally got another Turkish supermarket snack. I know you have all been desperately wondering what the next one would be. ha. Steve and I demolished these in a day. They are a solid 8 and a half out of 10. Biscolata Stars, go get some.

New Year, Space Party

What a night! loved wearing the galaxy leggings! Your Eyes Lie top did not come in time. Boo to them. Amazing efforts outfit wise from people. 

Random Pic(s) No 2

Pictures from the Shacklewell Arms in Dalston, a great place if you fancy a late night dance in Dalston and have a liking for dirty East End pubs. This one has been recently taken over but has managed to retain its charm. No thats not the word, edge perhaps. They have tidied up the toilets a little which was much needed as its not fun wading through puddles of who knows what to get there. Its worth checking out just for the murals in the smoking area which could be considered a little disturbing to some.

Trying to find images for something else, led me accidently to discover this photographer. I like to do this sort of thing in photoshop, putting random images over the top of others.
