Can't afford the real thing?

Love architecture but know you will never get to live in your dream house? What about a mini house instead to sit inside your own place? As a child I was fascinated by the dolls houses in the Museum of Childhood which perhaps explains why I love these.

I discovered them on this American site The Future Perfect. Which led me on to their own site Chisel & Wood. Each "building" is hand made with strong plaster and can be hung on a wall. I think my favourite are the ones from around the 1920's. Arsenal stadium would be a no-no due to Spurs supporting boyfriend.

Also loving the Curiosity Monkey by Committee below these - just the right side of kitsch and would look great on my new (imaginary) dressing table.

Autumnal purchases

Basically another excuse to put an infinity picture up! An image or rather a few hundred images of me wearing my newly purchased coat from ASOS. I was actually trying on the Monki leopard print dress that you can see on the bench. Unfortunately it made me look more Bet Lynch than Dita Von Tease!

I also treated myself to the Lancome Artliner - I have read some great reviews about it. My once trusty Rimmel liquid liner has been letting me down of late. I am a big fan of fat black flicks!

Not as good as these or these, but not bad for a tenner! Sometimes Ebay comes up trumps.

Praise for my Galaxy

I am completely happy with my Galaxy S2 Samsung phone, it does everything I need it to and costs much less a  month than you know who, plus I have never seen anyone with a cracked screen, have you? Oh well maybe not completely happy. Often it takes a while for Apps to reach the android market such as Vine ( I think it's coming soon?) and the fact you cant buy fun phone covers for it.

Although I notice Society6 now do the Samsung S4 covers but that's not much use for me at the moment. Aaaanyway, I like this one, and I like the work of Sirin Thada. Society 6 is a great way of discovering artists and designers out there. I havent worked out if it's a good or bad way for artists to make money - but it's certainly a great way of getting noticed online. There are all sorts of sites like this popping up. You can get your artwork turned into fabric, cushions, shower curtains, mirrors, and more!

Eye of Horus

The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health. Due to my obsession with the eyes and lips thing I have become a fan. Check out my Pinterest board if you like! I have noticed it's also becoming more popular as a feature in tattoos. These bucket bags caught my eye (caught my eye ha. Ugh)

Emily Evans is a Medical Illustrator from London. Histology is the study of the microscopic anatomy of cells and tissues. Emily created 8 different plates, that show the patterns of close up tissues including bowels, testicles, bone. The patterns are quite pretty really - what do you think? Available from here.

Cauliflower Teapots

I saw one of these on the telly the other day. It seems like a funny thing to have, kind of kitsch. But if you look at the prices of some of these, they aint so kitsch! The tall one is for sale at around £8000 and dates back to 1760-1770. As well as cauliflowers, the bottom right one is a melon and the bottom left is a pineapple. I think maybe the cauliflowers are the winners in my eyes.

How 'conscious' it actually is I have no idea, and I'm not sure what the Vanessa Paradis link is, is she just the model or did she have a hand in the design or concept, I don't know.

Have you checked out & Other Stories yet?

I haven't visited the shop yet, but I have already made an online purchase. & Other Stories is a new offering from the H&M empire. It's a bit like Cos, but with more of a youthful edge and less of a price tag. Judging by the pictures, the shop looks pretty cool as well, although I may leave it a few weeks to check out just to make sure I don't spend anymore money this month.

Shiny shoes

Love these! Don't think they are available in the UK, shame. They look sort of 60's space age. If you do want to buy them from the US they are available here. They are by New York shoe label - Messeca.

Flasks for ladies

Spotted this on a blog favourite of mine today, love it! A bangle that looks great, and can be filled with a drink of your choice! Although quite bulky, perhaps would help with arm toning at the same time?! especially if your waving your hands around a lot of the dancefloor. It's available from here.

So, whilst preparing myself for the New Years party, of which I took no decent pictures. I realised how easy it is to do the goth look these days! Back at school if you dared to wear black nail varnish you were deemed a goth or a worse a greebo straight away!

Now days, you just have to pop into your local River Island and you're done! How the times have changed. Anyway to demonstrate this, I have created the below collage!

Lazy Oaf are an independent graphic and illustration clothing label which began on a stall in Spitalfields. It now sells through its shop in Soho and online.
